Everything Everywhere All at Once star Jamie Lee Curtis paid a loving tribute to her daughter Ruby on Trans Day of Visibility yesterday (March 31).

The actress, who recently won an Oscar for her role in the multiverse-spanning martial arts family drama, shared a photo of the duo to her Instagram and wrote: "Love is love. A mother's love knows no judgment.

"As a mother, I stand in total solidarity with my children as they move forward in the universe as their authentic selves with their own minds and bodies and ideas. On this trans visibility day my daughter and I are visible. #transvisibilityday."

Ruby came out as trans to her parents in 2020, and her mother has shown her support in condemning transphobia and officiating her cosplay-themed wedding last year.

When she won her first Oscar last month, Curtis expressed her belief that awards categories should be de-gendered to be more inclusive, if done correctly.

"As the mother of a trans daughter, I completely understand. In all the areas, in all the branches...we're not anywhere near there," she said (via Entertainment Tonight).

"To de-gender the category, I'm also concerned will diminish the opportunities for more women, which is something I have also been working hard to promote. So, it's a complicated question, but I think the most important thing is inclusivity and more women."

Last year saw Curtis' final performance as Laurie Strode in Halloween Ends. Having played the role for the first time more than 40 years ago, filming her final scene was emotional.

"It was very powerful for me. I wept. David [Gordon Green, the director] wept. We all recognised that moment, that it was the wrap for Laurie Strode and me. And this community of artists who made these movies. It was a big deal."
