James Norton's best movie is now available to watch on BBC iPlayer
James Norton may be best known for his role as sinister villain Tommy Lee Royce in BBC's Happy Valley, but it's his role in little known 2021 movie Nowhere Special that really shines amongst his strongest work.
Norton plays the role of terminally ill window cleaner John, who is desperately searching for the perfect replacement family to take care of his young son after learning that he only has months left to live.
If you hadn't heard of the movie or haven't had the opportunity to see it, Nowhere Special is now available on BBC iPlayer for the next year, meaning there's plenty of time to watch The Full Monty director Uberto Pasolini's film.

Nowhere Special currently sits at 100% on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, after 31 reviews.
Critics have highlighted Norton's performance as one of the high points in the film, with The Guardian calling his performance "spine-tingling", while Backseat Mafia wrote that Nowhere Special allowed the actor to give "the performance of his life".
The film also won Norton a nomination at the British Independent Film Awards for Best Actor in 2021, with the award ultimately going to Adeel Akhtar for his role in drama film Ali & Ava.
Norton's performance in the film has seen him go on to showcase his acting talents in a variety of films and TV shows, most recently appearing in Bob Marley biopic One Love (as record producer Chris Blackwell) and the HBO sci-fi series The Nevers.
The actor has also attracted attention as a potential future James Bond, being one of the many stars linked to the role of 007.

However, Norton has since shut down the rumours, saying "there's nothing concrete" behind the reports.
"No, no, no, none of that," he told Variety last June. "It's a really lovely piece of clickbait media in the UK, and anyone can write any story about it and it will get the most incredible sort of hype around it. No, no conversations."
