Jack Whitehall movie Clifford the Big Red Dog has secured itself a brand new release date in the US.

Currently due on UK soil this Christmas Eve, the lovable giant mutt will lick the silver screen across the Atlantic a little earlier on November 10.

As seems fashionable in this COVID-19 era, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will appear on the US streaming service Paramount+ that day too.

Alongside Jungle Cruise's Whitehall, the movie cast boasts the legendary John Cleese, Kenan Thompson, Darby Camp and Tony Hale.

And whilst we're on the subject of that theme park-inspired adventure flick, it was confirmed recently that a Jungle Cruise sequel had been ordered by Disney.

Reacting to this news, Whitehall's hulking co-star Dwayne Johnson wrote on social media: "Em [Blunt] & I raisin' a glass to you in celebration of our official JUNGLE CRUISE SEQUEL [two hand-clapping emojis] THANK YOU and your families around the world for discovering and loving our film – in theaters and in your living rooms.

"And a HUGE MAHALO for making JUNGLE CRUISE cross that $100M mark at the US box office. JUNGLE CRUISE is only the 4th movie of 2021 to achieve that milestone. Not an easy accomplishment these days, so thank you guys so much.

"Let's get this sequel on the road…. Jaume Collet-Serra back to direct. Michael Green back to write. And I get to tag along as Emily Blunt's sidekick. #AdventureOfALifetime," his caption continued.

Earning three stars in Digital Spy's review, we wrote at the time: "What Jungle Cruise lacks in polish, though, it makes up for in spades thanks to Blunt and Johnson's earnest and impassioned performances."
