‘Jack Ryan': Abbie Cornish to Reprise Cathy Mueller Role in Season 4

Abbie Cornish is set to reprise her role of Cathy Mueller in Season 4 of Amazon series “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,” TheWrap has confirmed.

The third season of the books-and-film adaptation recently wrapped production and the show was renewed for Season 4 last week.

We do not yet have a premiere date from Amazon Prime Video for Season 3. It is also not yet known if Cornish, who has not appeared on “Jack Ryan” since the show’s first season, will be featured on Season 3.

As of right now, Amazon will only confirm Cornish is returning as Cathy Mueller — a Season 1 love interest of Jack Ryan’s (John Krasinski) whose disappearance in Season 2 sparked confusion among some fans — in Season 4.

In the “Jack Ryan” books, Cathy and Jack ended up getting married and having kids, and she’s the First Lady when Jack is elected president. So pretty much everyone figured that Cathy, and thus Cornish as well, would be a mainstay of Amazon’s series — which made her abrupt disappearance strange and gives her upcoming return even more importance.

“Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” Season 3 sees Jack Ryan on the run and in a race against time, according to the logline. Jack is wrongly implicated in a larger conspiracy and suddenly finds himself a fugitive out in the cold. Now, wanted by both the CIA and an international rogue faction that he has uncovered, Jack is forced underground, crisscrossing Europe, trying to stay alive and prevent a massive global conflict.

This “Jack Ryan” is executive produced by Andrew Form, Allyson Seeger, Krasinski, Vaun Wilmott, Brad Fuller and Michael Bay. Additionally, Tom Clancy and Skydance Television’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost executive produce the third season along with Mace Neufeld and Carlton Cuse.

“Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” is a co-production of Amazon Studios, Paramount Television Studios and Skydance Television.

Deadline first reported the news of Cornish returning to “Jack Ryan.”
