For the first day of Pottermas, J.K. Rowling has published a new passage about some of the most crucial characters in the Harry Potter wizarding world.

The Harry Potter author released the first of 12 new nuggets on the Pottermore website on Friday, with this one focused on Cokeworth, the industrial town where Harry once spent a night with his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia, and cousin Dudley.

As it turns out, it was also the town where Petunia grew up, alongside her sister Lily — aka Harry Potter’s mom — and Severus Snape. Despite Vernon’s perception of the town as a grimy, rundown borough, it was where Lily first learned of her fantastic magical powers.

For dedicated Potter fans, the short bit of writing might not be quite enough. But then, there’s more where that came from, with 11 more passages to come.
