iPhone X Rumors: Cheaper Phone Without Certain Features on the Way

But you can use the money you save on new AirPods.

If the latest news leak is any indication, you may have to sacrifice a few of your favorite features, if you want to save big on your next Apple iPhone purchase.

With the official release of Apple's newest smartphone operating system iOS12 still a few months away, reports on the future of how our iPhone use could change continue to swirl. Along with previous reports of easier charging capabilities and enhanced security, the latest reporting from Forbes has additional details on the possible tech specs of a rumored discounted iPhone X.

According to Forbes, designs of possible iPhone cases by Ghostek have been leaked online. The case designs reportedly show how the upcoming discounted version of the iPhone X will look.

In the images, one can see that the budget-friendly version of the upcoming iPhone will reportedly look much like its $999 counterpart. Unfortunately, the less expensive version is likely to only come with a single rear camera, no 3D touch, and will use a LCD display instead of OLED, Forbes pointed out. The rumored new case design appears to confirm previous reporting regarding some of the phone's features. The less expensive version will also be large in size, Forbes has reported, with the phone reportedly featuring a 6.1 inch display.

Along with news on sizing and possible features, Bloomberg has shared news of how our iPhone listening capabilities may change. Apple has supposedly started work on a set of higher quality AirPods, that could debut in 2019. The reported headphone update will cost more than its current $159 pricetag, Bloomberg noted, but the pods may feature noise-cancelling capabilities and be waterproof. In addition, Apple may also unveil over-ear headphones.

There's no official word on a release date or confirmation or the products from Apple, but it's been theorized that the newest iPhone could be out this fall.
