It's no surprise that former first lady Michelle Obama attended President Joe Biden's inauguration in a coordinated outfit that took the internet by storm. Since her time in the White House, she has become a fashion icon in the political world with her bold statement pieces. Her matching plum ensemble consisted of a turtleneck, trousers, belt, and floor-length wool trench coat by Black designer Sergio Hudson.

Although the original designer pieces aren't available on the brand's website, we managed to find a $65 coat on Amazon that looks like the real deal for way less. Don't let the price fool you, many five-star reviewers rave about how pleasantly surprised they were by the great quality. "It wasn't cashmere, but it sure felt as soft as cashmere," says one satisfied shopper.

Americans watching the inauguration posted their appreciation for the former first lady's outfit on Twitter. "Still thinking about Michelle Obama in this outfit," one person tweeted. Even celebrities like Glennon Doyle and Natasha Rothwell called out the stunning look on their personal Twitter accounts on Wednesday during the ceremony.

Shades of purple were worn by various attendees (including Vice President Kamala Harris) to symbolize peace and unity as President Joe Biden was sworn into office. Madam Vice President was seen wearing a coordinating royal purple outfit by up-and-coming Black designer Christopher John Rogers, which also consisted of a long trench coat.
