Yahoo Movies Inspector found rodents and roaches at a ‘major food distributor’ in Broward
Dead rodents, dead roaches and food on the floor caused the Weston facility of a food distributor to fail state inspection last Tuesday, June 28.
The Florida Department of Agriculture classifies KeHE Distributors, 3225 Meridian Pkwy., as a “major food distributor,” which is in line with KeHE’s website declaration that “as one of the largest natural & organic, fresh, and specialty food distributors in the nation, we are on a mission to serve and feed America.”
KeHE claims it serves chain supermarkets, grocery stores and natural retailers; independent grocery stores and natural retailers; convenience stores and food service providers.
Inspector Manuel Uribe saw “throughout the food establishment, spilled liquid food products on the floors, such as oils, jams., etc. Damaged foods spilled in between pallets, stored on aisles, such as pasta, grains, etc., as well as an excessive amount of debris on floors.”
Also, “food establishment boxes with different kinds of pre-packaged foods stored directly on the floor.”
All that food on the floor might explain all the dead vermin found in the facility.
Uribe found “several dead rodents on glue boards” in “different aisles of the food establishment.” He also saw glue boards with “several dead roaches.”
