Watch the Cast of 'Inside Out' Take a Rorschach Test

The new Disney-Pixar gem Inside Out delves into the mind of Riley, an 11-year-old girl who’s undergoing the traumatic experience of moving to a new city. We feel her pain through the outlook of the five central emotions in her head, Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Fear (Bill Hader), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), and Anger (Lewis Black).

So when the cast members came to Yahoo studios, we put the quintet of actors to the ultimate trial of mind and emotion: A Rorschach Test, a.k.a. that test a psychiatrist gives you with the funny-looking ink blots. You can watch it go down in the video above.

The cast’s answers were varied and hilarious, as you can tell from the first example:

Amy Poehler: “An old dinosaur fish that shouldn’t be alive anymore.”

Phyllis Smith: “Two poodles talking into a microphone.”

Lewis Black: “A tiny Buddha under two palm trees.”

Mindy Kaling: “A cloud that just woke up.”

Bill Hader: “The poster for Season 2 of The L Word.

It was a deep learning experience for all involved, as you can probably tell.

Inside Out opens Friday. Watch the trailer:
