Indians pay tribute to the killed pregnant elephant

It’s quite a paradox: while, on the one hand, Indians worship animals, on the other, many are devoid of compassion towards animals in their natural habitat.

In a horrific incident, a pregnant elephant in Kerala died an agonising death after eating a firecracker-laden pineapple. It is being argued that the pineapple was not meant for the elephant but to keep wild boars away. The fact, however, is that this has led to an avoidable tragedy.

Even as he debate rages over the issue, people are coming together to pay tribute to the deceased, and pregnant, elephant.

You too can pay your tributes below. While you are at it, please share your thoughts what should we do to end cruelty to animals?
