I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is facing backlash on social media, following a teaser trailer and behind-the-scenes clip released this week.

The medieval knight-themed trailer, which was posted on Instagram over the weekend, features the show's hosts Ant and Dec each riding horses. While Dec is paired with a regular horse, we can see Ant sat on top of what seems to be a small Shetland pony, and it's sparked an unhappy response from fans - with many saying that they think the horse is too small to ride.

Following the trailer, the presenters posted a behind-the-scenes video of Ant joking around while riding the small pony, with plenty of fans taking to the comments to share their thoughts.

One follower wrote, "I love you guys and think you are both brilliant but this is not funny at all. The strain you will be putting on that small pony’s back is huge. Disappointed in you guys ☹️".

Another added, "the poor pony" while one fan wrote, "that’s cruel".

"Ant is much too big for that small pony! So disappointed 😢," wrote one follower, with another adding, "Ant you are way too big for that little horse 😳 get off !!".

We have reached out to ITV for comment. A spokesperson for I’m A Celebrity previously told Metro: "The pony used in the promo is professionally trained to work in the film and television industry. Throughout the shoot the horse master and a team of expert handlers were on location at all times. The safety and wellbeing of the horses and pony used for filming were of utmost priority to everyone."
