A forthcoming action movie starring Idris Elba will likely be delayed from release, following the terrorist attacks in Paris.

‘Bastille Day’ was due for release next February in the UK, but the movie, which features Elba as a CIA operative hunting terrorists in Paris, may now be postponed.

A rep for the movie, to be released by StudioCanal, told Variety: “In light of the recent tragic events, we’re re-evaluating the timing of the film’s release across Europe.”

It was set for release in France in July.

It also stars 'Game of Thrones’ Richard Madden, and is directed by James Watkins, of 'The Woman In Black’ fame.

However, another movie with terrorism at its heart, called 'Taj Mahal’, based on the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, which killed 166 and left hundred more injured, will go ahead.

It is slated for a December 2 release.

Bac Films, which has produced the movie, directed by Nicola Saada, says it has discussed the release in light of what happened in Paris, and will proceed.

“As we’re mourning the deaths of so many people who died because of terrorist attacks, we initially thought it would be best to delay it, but then when we thought harder, we realized that postponing the film would result in capitulating before terrorists, losing the battle,” said Bac Films boss Mathieu Robinet.

“We didn’t take the commercial aspect in consideration, we raised two issues: An ethical one and a political one; both are intertwined.

“Taj Mahal is neither sensationalist nor political: We’re not showing any blood, we’re not showing the terrorists either, we’re just in the mind of this young girl, attempting to depict her complex feelings during the ordeal.”

The film tells the story of a woman, 'Nymphomaniac’ star Stacy Martin, who is trapped in one of the suites at the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower hotel, which was targeted during the attack.
