Idaho's Moose Fire Engulfs Over 68,000 Acres

The Moose fire burning near Salmon, Idaho, has grown to 68,771 acres (107 square miles) and is 16 percent contained, according to official reports.

A post on the Salmon-Challis National Forest Twitter page said firefighters took advantage of the moderate weather conditions on Sunday, August 7, to access different parts of the forest and strengthen containment lines.

This footage uploaded to Facebook by firefighter Luke Hill shows flames and smoke from the fire rising into the air and planes flying over the area.
