Cold weather was continuing to create icy conditions in the New York City area on Monday morning, January 24. This video from Catherine Schutte shows large icicles hanging over frozen waters on Fire Island, on Long Island’s southern shore.

A cold front brought brief snow showers to parts of the tri-state area on Sunday, with some residual flurries on Monday morning, but temperatures were expected to “rebound to above freezing” across most of the area through Monday, the National Weather Service in New York said.
