Hurricane Ian Approaches South Carolina as Authorities Issue Weather Warnings

Hurricane Ian was expected to make a second landfall on the coastline of the Carolinas on Friday, September 30, after having a devastating impact on Florida.

The National Hurricane Center said Ian was “accelerating toward” the South Carolina coast and warned of life-threatening storm surge and hurricane-force winds.

The National Weather Service forecast surge inundation of up to seven feet along parts of the South Carolina coast and issued a flash flood warning in Isle of Palms, South Carolina.
