A runway favorite makes its red carpet debut.
Leave it to Hunter Schafer to be the first to wear one of Fashion Month's most viral looks on the red carpet.
Fresh on the heels of a very stylish press tour for her starring role in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, the actress attended the opening of Pradasphere II at the Start Museum in Shanghai wearing a dress straight off the runway.
Nicknamed "the jellyfish" by fans, look 15 of Prada's Spring/Summer 2024 collection debuted in Milan, gracing the Instagram stories of many fashionable front-row attendees — Schafer included. Its gauzy construction, made of superfine organza and gazar, paired with an organic silhouette, mimics the reflection of light and movement of fabric underwater.
The "haze" dress became an instant online success in September, so it was only a matter of time before the design found its way onto an It girl like Schafer in the months that followed. Pairing the gown with slicked-back hair and an iridescent pair of dark chartreuse heels, the actress continued the ethereal, fantasy-filled fashion trip she's been on of late.
The Euphoria actress has long acted as a muse for Prada, fronting multiple campaigns for the Italian fashion house and, most recently, tapping co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons to create a custom gold foil creation for the Hunger Games world premiere in London. So, what better than a siren-inspired creation fresh off the runway to celebrate the history of a beloved fashion house?
The Pradasphere II fashion retrospective traces "the history and culture of Prada from its origins in 1913 to the present day," according to a press release. Including more than 400 pieces of physical and digital ephemera from the brand's sizeable archive curated by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, the exhibition explores Prada's unique take on luxury from craft and construction to design and artistry.
Pradasphere II is free and open to the public from Dec. 7, 2023, to Jan. 21, 2024, at the Start Museum, 111 Ruining Road, Xuhui District.
