Hugh Jackman: Wolverine 3′s Script Still Isn’t Complete

While moviegoers are excited about yet another solo Wolverine film, the fact that it will be the last to star Hugh Jackman means that it will be viewed with a heavy heart.

It’s now been 2 and a half years since 2013’s ‘The Wolverine’ was released, and we’re still waiting for word on when production will finally commence on its follow-up. Why are we still waiting? Well, it turns out that its script still isn’t finished.

Hugh Jackman provided an update on ‘Wolverine 3’s’ script while at the Sundance Film Festival, where a secret screening of ’Eddie The Eagle’ took place. And while Jackman admitted that the script isn’t quite finished yet, he insisted that it’s super close.

“We have a script,” Hugh Jackman told Collider. “A full script. To tell you, two days ago I got the full finished – well, it’s not finished, but we’re getting super close – as you can see by the rate of my facial hair.”

In fact, Jackman teased that the length of his beard has something to do with the fact that production on ‘Wolverine 3′ will commence “sooner rather than later.”

But he still doesn’t know when that will be, because during the same discussion Hugh Jackman admitted that there still isn’t a confirmed beginning for the shoot. And there won’t be one until everything is absolutely perfect with the script.

They’ll have to begin soon though if they are to meet the March 3, 2017, release date for ‘Wolverine 3′ that has previously been scheduled by 20th Century Fox.
