Horrifying footage shows moment car plummets from motorway flyover and into crowd of pedestrians

This is the moment a car plummeted 20ft from a motorway flyover into a crowd of people - leaving one woman dead and six others injured.

Horrifying CCTV footage shows the car ploughing through safety barriers and off the edge of the flyover.

It landed on a group of pedestrians who were waiting at a bus stop in Hyderabad, Telangana in southern India on Saturday afternoon.

Some people managed to spot the car heading towards them and were able to escape without injury.  The six people who were injured were rushed to hospital for treatment.  According to local police, the car is understood to have been travelling at more than 100km/ph when it crashed - on a road with a 40km/ph speed limit.

According to police, the red Volkswagen was travelling at more than 100km per hour when the driver lost control.

That was despite the speed limit on the road being 40km per hour.

Some pedestrians managed to dive out of the way when they saw the approaching car.
