Four Alliston Hornets players who graduated from Junior hockey after the 2020 season were honoured at the start of the Hornet’s Friday night game against the Midland Flyers.
The players never really got to finish their final season due to the pandemic which stopped all league play in the middle of the Hornets league championship series with the Stayner Sisksins.
Graduating players are usually honoured at the hockey club’s year end banquet.
However, the banquet did not happen in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The players were presented with their sweaters and framed action photos of them on the ice during their time with team.
They were introduced to the fans, most of whom will remember them, prior to the game.
Forward Ryan Sallows played five seasons with the Hornets in a career that totalled 190 games. He scored 84 career goals and had 115 assists. D
efenceman Braydon Horgath, is another long-time player with f ve seasons on the Hornets. Braydon played in 164 games over the fi ve years.
Defenceman Mitch Livingston, known for his towering height and imposing presence on the ice, played five seasons in Alliston playing a total of 201 games in his career.
Another tall defenceman, Liam Kendall played one season in Alliston recording 39 games on the ice.
During this coming Friday’s game, the Hornets will honour graduating players from 2021.
