Homes Evacuated as Fire Rages in Chelmsford

As many as 40 people were evacuated from 15 homes in Chelmsford, Essex, on Saturday, August 6, after a fire broke out in a home garden, according to the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service.

Essex Fire said first aid was rendered to seven people on the scene. Several gardens were destroyed, and “exterior walls, windows and guttering” of 15 homes were damaged in the blaze, the fire service said.
