Home and Away star Sam Frost on explosion story

Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Home and Away's Jasmine Delaney becomes a local hero on UK screens next week, as she races to help the injured when Ryder Jackson and Chloe Anderson's food truck explodes.

A regular morning in the Bay takes a horrific turn when the vehicle blows up in mysterious circumstances, leaving lives hanging in the balance.

After Dean Thompson puts out a fire caused by the blast, Jasmine tries to offer assistance to her friends and neighbours. Sadly, her own health takes a turn for the worse when she later collapses and is rushed to hospital.

Here, Sam Frost – who plays Jasmine – previews the dramatic scenes.

Jasmine is being drawn into Tori and Christian's relationship issues at the moment. How does she feel about that?

"It's definitely not an easy position to be in. Jas is concerned that Christian is blurring the lines with his patient Rachel and she can see that it's hurting her friend Tori.

"She is fed up with Christian's behaviour and just wants the couple to work through their problems and live happily ever after."

Jasmine has also recently discovered the horrible truth about Lewis. Would you have liked to explore that story further?

"I think Lewis and Jasmine were great together. Jas felt there was natural chemistry between the two and their experiences of both losing their partners really meant they had a great understanding of each other.

"Having said that, I don't think that Jasmine could ever forgive Lewis for his attempted murder of Christian and the other patients that were implicated.

"She understands that his trauma and grief runs deep, but there's not ever a reason to take someone else's life.

"In the end, I think fans just want to see Jas happy, as do I, and I really hope that's on the cards for her."

What were the explosion scenes like to film?

"Filming the food truck explosion was so intense. At the beginning of the scene, we all act as though it's just another day in the Bay and by the end of the scene, there's total shock, despair and destruction.

"The cast and crew work so hard to make sure everything comes together perfectly on the day with all the moving parts for hair, special effects, make-up and stunts.

"They were long but very rewarding days and I'm so grateful to be a part of these dramatic and exciting storylines."

What can you tell us about Jasmine trying to rescue everyone?

"Jas is so focused on making sure that everyone else is okay that she is in complete survival mode. To find herself in this situation, being the only nurse at the scene, she feels she has a responsibility to do as much as she can to look after everyone and triage the situation.

"It is very chaotic after the explosion and there's not much time to think about anything other than helping the people who have been injured and are in a critical condition."

We see Jasmine collapse and face a tough time at the hospital, don't we?

"Yes, Jas is quite fragile in this moment because she is suffering from sporadic memory loss and she doesn't know what is happening.

"Luckily Irene and Christian are there to support Jas in the coming days and we hope she will make a full recovery with time."

What was it like to film the emotional hospital scenes with Lynne McGranger, who plays Irene?

"Lynne is absolutely amazing and I love filming scenes with her. Irene and Jas have been through so much together and they have a very solid and honest friendship.

"Whether it's a serious scene or something more light-hearted, we always enjoy the time we spend filming together. Lynne is extremely talented and very funny."

What do you want the future to hold for Jasmine?

"I think it's time for Jas to have some light in her life... and maybe some romance too!"

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK), with first-look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
