Home and Away producer Lucy Addario has offered hints on what fans can expect to see in Summer Bay this year.

Speaking to TV Week, the show boss suggested that love will play a major part in upcoming storylines, with more than one pregnancy being planned in addition to a wedding.

"At its heart, this show is about love," she said. "You have to see a wedding. There'll be pregnancies and new faces. And there will be events that throw the Bay into disarray."

Meanwhile, Addario promised that viewers will find out Colby Thorne's fate as he currently serves time in prison for Ross Nixon's murder. Rumours suggest actor Tim Franklin has finished filming, which might not bode well for the ex-policeman character.

"We see if he'll survive in prison or not," she said.

"One of the big fears, particularly from Dean who's spent time in prison, is that when they find out Colby's a cop, he's a goner."

Willow Harris will return to Summer Bay "to try to make things right" and check on Dean Thompson, while the love triangle between Ziggy Astoni, Dean, and Tane Parata looks set to develop in 2021.

Addario also spoke about Luke Arnold's new character Lewis, who is a love interest for Jasmine Delaney.

"They did date back at uni," she teased. "Hopefully, Lewis is the one to make Jasmine take off her wedding ring.

"Lewis has history as well, and we learn he's lost his wife through an accident. Jasmine and Lewis are bonded by grief."

Interestingly, Lewis blames Christian Green for the death of his partner.

And fans will see Heath Braxton (Dan Ewing) return shortly, with the River Boy involved in Tane and Ari Parata's storyline – although it will only be a "cameo".

"But we were glad to have him," Addario added.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).
