Hollyoaks' Tony Hutchinson confronts evil brother Eric

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks has aired another twist in Eric Foster's attempts to return to the village, as a disgraced Eric reached out to his brother.

In Wednesday's (March 29) first look episode, Tony, Diane and Beau were focused on rebuilding their lives after the break in at The Dog when Tony received a surprise voicemail from his brother Eric asking to see him.

Seeing Tony distressed by the call, Diane sought advice from Honour about how to support her husband.

Honour's words left her with a new resolve, knowing the only way Tony would be able to get better is if he faced his brother once and for all.

Later on, the pair arrived at the prison, though Tony was distraught to see where his wife had brought him. But Diane remained insistent that he needed to confront Eric, if not for himself, for his family.

Inside, Eric seemed grateful for his brother's visit and begged him for support while he was locked-up.

"I'm facing 15 years in here, Tony. 15 years and I can't do it alone. That's why I reached out to you," Eric said.

But Tony wasn't convinced by Eric's words, telling him he needed to apologise to Diane for his actions. Or he'd never see him again.

It wasn't long before Eric was back to his hateful self, blaming Diane and the women of the village for his actions. His words were enough for Tony, who was finally able to tell his brother he wanted nothing more to do with him.

"You're going to rot in here, Eric, and no barrister with a shred of integrity is going to touch you and Verity's not here to bail you out," he said. "Goodbye, Eric."

Back at The Dog, Tony discussed the visit with Beau, telling him that he'd been able to cut Eric out of his life for good.

However, Eric hadn't given up on his plan of freedom and called James to make him an offer. The offer? He'd pay James whatever he wanted as long as he would get him out of prison.

Could Eric be returning to everyone's lives after all?
