Hollyoaks star hints at long-term future for Peri and Juliet

Peri and Juliet are going through some drama at the moment on Hollyoaks. But will they be able to resolve it and could they come out the other end stronger?

In tomorrow's (May 10) episode, Juliet is set to spark suspicion that she's back to dealing drugs as she is seen texting a mystery contact.

When Peri confronts Juliet with her suspicions, Juliet is left frustrated. But after Peri overhears Juliet telling Sid that he's the only person she can talk to about everything she has been through, Peri is done with playing games and demands to know who Juliet is texting.

Seeing the couple is struggling, Fergus (who has been secretly spying on Peri via a hidden camera in her bedroom) talks to Juliet and tells her he has the perfect solution to her relationship worries, while Juliet later reveals to Sid who has been texting her.

It seems like the couple are headed towards some rocky times, but according to Peri actress Ruby O'Donnell, the two might be strong enough to make it through and stay together for a long time.

"Juliet’s being very secretive about some text messages on her phone," said Ruby in an interview with Inside Soap.

"It sets alarm bells ringing for Peri, and she jumps to the worst-possible conclusion. Her and Juliet's relationship is still very new, and the pair of them need to work on building their trust," added the actress.

However, Ruby then went on to admit that she and Juliet co-star Niamh Blackshaw are both cheering for their characters' romance to live on.

"When it comes to Peri and Juliet, I can definitely see them being long-term!

"I love Niamh, she's one of my best mates. So it always feels very natural for us to do these scenes together, and we rehearse them all beforehand.

"With everyone that Peri's been with in the past, I've always known that it was going to end in disaster! Obviously I don't know what the writers have planned for this storyline in the future, but I love Peri and Juliet together!"

Hollyoaks airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, May 10 at 6.30pm on Channel 4. First-look episodes air weeknights at 7pm on E4.
