Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks newcomer Omar Malik has teased his character's secretive and surprising past ahead of Shaq Qureshi's arrival in the village.

Omar will make his Hollyoaks debut in today's (March 5) first-look episode on E4, when Misbah Maalik's nephew will make a dramatic entrance after running away from his wedding.

Speaking to Inside Soap ahead of his arrival on the Channel 4 show, Omar hinted at "trouble" in Shaq's past.

"Shaq's been in trouble in the past, bringing shame on his family, so he's known as a liability," he revealed.
