Hollyoaks' James unveils revenge plot against Becky

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

James Nightingale has revealed his revenge plot against Becky Quentin in Hollyoaks.

The attorney holds Becky responsible for his mum Marnie's death in the Salon du The explosion, since she was caught on video throwing a smoke bomb seconds before the blast inside the cafe.

Friday's (January 28) first-look episode revealed the aftermath of James' first step towards getting revenge, where he encouraged Ollie to relapse into drug use.

Ollie arranged a secret meeting with James, where he revealed he'd flushed the ketamine. He told James: "This isn't a game to me. Ket nearly ruined my life."

Becky caught the tail-end of their conversation, so she used it to her advantage. She instructed Ollie to tell James' boyfriend Ste about him taking drugs — even though James hadn't actually used any of the ketamine.

With Becky pushing him, Ollie told a shocked Ste that James was "drunk and wired" when he offered the drugs. Becky also lied that James had "literally forced" the ketamine on the teen.

"Your boyfriend is out of control," Becky insisted to Ste.

Ste then confronted James when he was arguing with Donna-Marie at the memorial site. Even though James insisted he hadn't done drugs, he turned on his boyfriend for his "smothering pity".

"All I want is justice for my mother," James vowed.

Later, James had a monologue where he revealed he'd taken the cash from the donation box at the memorial site in order to drop Becky into a criminal investigation.

"She really thinks she can outsmart me mother," he said while looking at a framed photo of Marnie. "But stealing the money from the donation box, hiding it in little Henry's pram. What will people say when they find out Becky is just a common criminal?"

Will he get away with this plot?
