Hollyoaks' Diane gives birth after OCD scare

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Diane Hutchinson has given birth to daughter Eva after new complications from OCD.

Diane (Alex Fletcher) has been struggling with compulsive thoughts all throughout her pregnancy, as she's become concerned germs from the outside world could pollute her house.

In Monday's first-look episode, Tony tried to convince Diane to stay in bed for the day, but it turned out to be a sneaky plot so he could duck out for some fresh air.

Diane quickly realised what Tony had done just in time for her water to break. Meanwhile, Tony was chatting to Scott in the village, where Scott warned him Diane's behaviour had become alarming.

"I do think you're facilitating some pretty extreme behaviour," Scott tried to explain to Tony.

Tony was interrupted by an emergency call from Diane, but she refused to let him back inside because she was worried he'd expose their newborn to outside germs.

Once Tony finally got in, Diane refused to go along to the hospital: "[That place] has too many bad memories, and I don't want to risk our baby becoming one of them!"

Tony finally convinced Diane to go with him by promising that he wouldn't let her down again. The next time the couple were seen, Diane was cradling her healthy baby daughter Eva.

"She's beautiful, like her mum. Well done, you," Tony told his wife.

Tony promised Diane there was "no need to worry anymore", but there was doubt in her eyes that her husband didn't seem to notice.
