Yahoo Movies Here's Your Rare Chance to Own a Targa-Topped Porsche Reimagined by Singer
Singers are hard to come by. Because the California-based firm has painstaking attention to detail and high level of craftsmanship, it only "reimagines" a handful of 964-generation 911s a year, and its waiting list spans several years. So when a used example comes up for sale, it's always big news. It's even bigger news if the car in question has a targa top.
Scroll through Singer's Instagram page and you'll see that very few of the Porsches it reimagines have targa roofs—they're almost all fixed hardtop models. We can't remember the last time we saw a Targa model pop up for sale on the used market. Anyone currently in the market for one of Singer's cars should consider just how rare this opportunity is.
The car in question is based on a right-hand-drive 1991 Porsche 911 with a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated air-cooled flat-six engine connected to a G50 five-speed transmission. Rebuilt and customized by Singer in California between 2016 and 2018, it sports a deep blue paint with orange "Porsche" side decals paired to orange Fuchs-style wheels. Inside you'll find four-way-adjustable Recaro seats and a litany of handcrafted touches. The car has been driven just 664 miles since its commissioning.
If you'd rather not wait on Singer's waiting list for years, this 911 is currently up for auction on the Collecting Cars website and lives in West Yorkshire, a county east of Manchester in the United Kingdom. Bidding is currently sitting at £650,500 (roughly $890,000) with six days remaining. Seeing as how rare normal Porsche 911s Reimagined by Singer are, we wouldn't be surprised to see this Targa model selling for seven figures once the auction closes.
