Here's How Meghan Markle Feels About Missing Prince Philip's Funeral

Prince Harry is currently in England right now mourning the loss of his grandfather, Prince Philip. Though some people have wrongly criticized Meghan Markle for not attending the funeral, she actually would've made the effort to go if she wasn't carrying a higher risk pregnancy at the moment.

"Meghan wishes she could have flown to the U.K. to support her husband but has been advised not to due to her pregnancy," a source close to Meghan explained to E! News. "She would have put all the family tension aside to be there with Harry" despite the fact that she and Harry "are still not on amazing terms with the family." More than anything, "Harry wants to make sure Meghan and the baby are healthy and not involved in stressful situations" like a funeral, the source added.

Harry will only be staying in England "for a week" because he's pretty concerned for Meghan's health at the moment, according to an Us Weekly source. "He’s already really missing Meghan and Archie and has been FaceTiming them every day to check in...he actually speaks to Meghan a few times a day because he worries [about] leaving her when she’s so far along in her pregnancy."

Prince Philip's funeral will give Prince Harry and Prince William a chance to let the tensions between them dissolve—royal reporter Katie Nicholl did tell Entertainment Tonight that "there is every hope that this will be the beginning of the thawing of the rift between William and Harry," after all. But as much as Meghan and Harry want to make amends with the royal family, E!'s source says "they have been focused on their new roots in Montecito and the pregnancy" after Meghan's miscarriage last July.
