Here's Lego's Life-Size 'Rogue One' Death Trooper

While Star Wars doesn’t have the same outsized presence at Comic-Con as The Force Awakens provided last year — Lucasfilm just held its own Star Wars Celebration Europe convention last week to hype the studio’s upcoming slate — there’s one booth on the floor here in San Diego that is embracing Rogue One in a big way. On Wednesday evening, Lego will unveil a life-size Death Trooper, one of the Imperial’s nasty black-armored squad featured in the new standalone film, and Yahoo Movies has your exclusive sneak peek.

This trooper was created with 27,202 bricks (several thousand more than either the neighboring Captain America or Wonder Woman statues). According to the brickmasters who conceived and built the Imperial, the project took 116 hours to design and then 232 hours to complete. It stands over 6 feet and weights a relatively light 134 pounds.

The Lego booth also features several convention exclusives. There will be limited-edition minifigures: a special 75th anniversary version of Marvel’s Captain America and DC’s Atom.

There will also be four sets of the new “BrickHeadz”: Batman and Joker, Superman and Wonder Woman, Captain America and Iron Man, and Black Panther and Doctor Strange.
