Henry Cavill lands next lead movie role
Henry Cavill has landed his next lead movie role.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor has joined the cast of the live-action Voltron film for Amazon MGM Studios. Filming is set to begin in Australia later this year, though plot details are currently being kept under wraps.
Red Notice filmmaker Rawson Marshall Thurber is directing the film from a script he wrote with Ellen Shanman. Thurber will also produce alongside Todd Lieberman, Bob Koplar and David Hoberman.
Cavill joins the previously announced Daniel Quinn-Toye, who is known for appearing on British sitcom Badults. He also served as Tom Holland's understudy in Romeo & Juliet on the West End earlier this year.

The Voltron TV franchise is based on several Japanese anime series including Beast King GoLion and Kikou Kantai Dairugger XV.
It notably follows five young pilots who command vehicles that can be combined to form a mega-robot named Voltron.
The series has since spawned several US versions including Netflix's Voltron: Legendary Defender, which lasted for eight seasons.
It's been a busy year for Cavill. He most recently made a cameo appearance as Wolverine variant Cavillrine in the hit Marvel blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine, which brought in over $1 billion at the global box office.
Earlier this year, Cavill led Matthew Vaughn's mysterious spy thriller Argylle, which tells the story of reclusive author Elly Conway who writes best-selling espionage novels about a secret agent named Argylle who's on a mission to unravel a global spy syndicate.
"However, when the plots of her books start to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, the line between fiction and reality begin to blur."

"I'm very excited about [fatherhood]. Natalie and I are very, very excited," he said.
The Witcher actor will reunite with Ritchie on upcoming action thriller In the Grey, which also stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rosamund Pike and Eiza González.
Voltron doesn't have a release date yet.
