Yahoo Movies Heather Rae Young Claps Back at Troll Who Asks If She Has an Identity Apart From Tarek: "I’m in Love"
Heather Rae Young paused this week to thank her boyfriend, HGTV star Tarek El Moussa, for his unconditional love.
"I am so lucky to wake up everyday next to a man that loves me unconditionally, lifts me up & supports me in every way," [sic] Heather wrote on Instagram as she shared a selfie.
If you follow Tarek and Heather, you're well aware that love isn't in the air just because the countdown to Valentine's Day is upon the happy couple. Ever since the two love birds announced their relationship this past summer, their romance has heated up at a rapid pace.
Of course, if the internet has taught us anything, though, it's that there's always one Debbie Downer. One commenter attempted to steal this week's moment of happiness away from Heather by questioning if she has an identity outside of her relationship—and the Selling Sunset star clapped back in the most perfect way.
"Do you have an identity apart from your current relationship?" the Instagram user commented on Heather's post. "It seems like you have quite a successful thing going on your own without having to constantly remind the world who it is your dating in each and every post here. You are a very beautiful woman don’t let your shine be because of a man."
"LOL," Heather began, pausing to laugh off of the hate. "Well, I’m in love in my relationship is a big part of my happiness so yes I’m going to talk about it. And yes I’m going to relate my life to my relationship."
Tarek, for his part, took time to let Heather know that "you look so stunning hunny" with multiple exclamation marks accenting his compliment.
This is far from the first time Heather has faced trolls targeting her relationship. Tarek shares custody of his children with his ex-wife and Flip or Flop co-star, Christina Anstead. Heather shot down allegations that she was trying to alter her appearance to look like Christina as "ridiculous" last month.
“Are you trying to look like Christina?” one Instagram follower asked the former Playboy Playmate as she began to answer fans' questions after being "jet lagged and awake."
“Yes, that’s my ultimate goal, and I even rushed to a doctor to change my whole appearance!” she continued. "Come on guys ... Let's stop being ridiculous."
Tarek and Heather's love affair has included a big-ticket birthday present — a Ferrari, no big deal — and jet-setting across Europe for the Thanksgiving holidays.
“We’ve definitely talked about [a proposal], but we’re just kinda rolling with things right now,” Tarek told Us Weekly ahead of the trip. “We’re living life and we’re going to Europe together in a few weeks. We’re gonna go to Amsterdam for four days and then Paris for four days.”
While Tarek hasn't popped the question just yet, he officially welcomed Heather into his family with a holiday photo featuring the lovebirds and the kids.
