Heather Rae El Moussa shared a relatable parenting moment on Instagram when she revealed that her and Tarek El Moussa's baby's first Thanksgiving, "didn't really go as planned."

On Tuesday, the new mom, 36, shared that 10-month-old Tristan was actually sick with his first bad cold over the holiday, and she was left feeling "helpless" amid the stressful time away from home.

"All bundled up 🤍 Tristan’s first Thanksgiving didn’t really go as planned 🥹," Heather began her Instagram post. "Our sweet bear came down with a bad cold, his first one ever, and of course we weren’t at home for it- we were in the mountains where I grew up and I’m not going to lie, this was definitely not how I saw his first Thanksgiving going."

She continued, "It was his first time being sick so it was stressful for me- a lot of long nights & I wasn’t sure how bad it was going to get. As a mama you feel sort of helpless because they can’t 'tell' you how they feel. I’m so grateful that he’s feeling better & almost through it and that we were surrounded by our family for a little extra help, love, and support 🫶🏻."

"I know the holidays, for a lot of people, can be a little unexpected so if yours didn’t go as planned either- you’re definitely not alone but I hope everyone else had a happy & healthy Thanksgiving weekend 🤍." she concluded.

In Heather's first photo the reality star had a glum look on her face while Tristan, in the second snap, still managed to smile in his cuddly hooded fleece with bear ears.

Despite the baby's cold, the Flipping El Moussas stars said on Thursday they were grateful for their first Thanksgiving as a family of five, sharing photos with Taylor, 13, Brayden, 8, and Tristan. The couple welcomed Tristan in January, while Tarek, 42, shares son Brayden and daughter Taylor with his ex-wife and former Flip or Flop costar Christina Hall.

"We have so much to be thankful for this year but above everything, we’re thankful for the health & happiness of our family and friends," Tarek and Heather wrote in a joint Instagram post. "Today is special because not only do we get to be around family but we get the chance to take a moment and reflect on the beautiful life we’ve created."

In the professional family portrait, the family wore black outfits in front of a brown backdrop, with Heather holding onto Taylor's arm as she carried Tristan, while Tarek had his arm around Brayden.

Additionally, the couple shared two snaps of Tristan's first "El Moussa Thanksgiving," with the little one looking adorable in his black t-shirt and pants.

"We are so excited for all his 'firsts' & there’s so much to be thankful for this year," Tarek and Heather wrote, adding that their son had "brought a lightness to all of our lives🤍 Sweetest soul & sweetest laugh 🥹."
