Harvey Price given chance to make station announcements after Network Rail see teenager’s love of trains

Network Rail has offered Katie Price’s son, Harvey, the chance to make an announcement at one of their stations after seeing his love of trains in the documentary Katie Price: Harvey and Me.

The BBC One documentary aired on Monday evening and included two scenes of Harvey at train station.

The 18-year-old has Septo-optic Dysplasia, a rare genetic disorder affecting his eyesight, as well as autism and Prader-Willi syndrome, which can cause learning difficulties and behavioural problems.

In the two scenes, Harvey is seen mimicking the station announcements.

While spending time with a friend at Waterloo Station in London, he says: “May I have your attention please? This train is formed of 12 coaches. Platform four for the 11.34 South Western Railway service to Guildford.”

Now, Network Rail has revealed it would love to offer Harvey the chance to make an official railway announcement.

Media Relations Manager, Tracey O’Brien, told Metro.co.uk: “We, Network Rail, would be happy to arrange for Harvey to make an announcement at one of the Network Rail managed stations when it is safe to do so.”

The offer comes after hundreds of viewers took to Twitter to suggest that Harvey become an official station announcer.

“Harvey's joy in the sensory garden and room was so moving!” one person tweeted. “Loved his friendship with Zac and their shared interest in trains, I could listen to their announcements all day and never be annoyed by a cancellation or delay Smiling face with 3 hearts #harveyandme.”

Another added: “#harveyandme @KatiePrice should be so proud of herself and Harvey. Incredible documentary. Petition to have Harvey as the train voiceover!! Would be amazing.”

The Independent has contacted Network Rail for comment.
