Harsco: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

CAMP HILL, Pa. (AP) _ Harsco Corp. (HSC) on Thursday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $6.3 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Camp Hill, Pennsylvania-based company said it had a loss of 8 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 12 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 9 cents per share.

The industrial services company posted revenue of $508.3 million in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $514.5 million.

For the year, the company reported a loss of $26.3 million, or 33 cents per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $1.86 billion.

For the current quarter ending in April, Harsco expects its per-share earnings to range from 1 cent to 10 cents.

The company expects full-year earnings in the range of 59 cents to 76 cents per share.

Harsco shares have risen 20% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 53% in the last 12 months.
