'Harry Potter' star Emma Watson is not retiring from acting despite rumours

Emma Watson has set the record straight after rumours of her retirement started trending online.

Social media was buzzing after reports suggested that the Harry Potter actor was taking a step back from the spotlight in order to spend more time with her rumoured partner Leo Robinton.

However, it seems fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as Watson’s agent has confirmed it is not the case.

Several outlets have quoted the star's representative as saying in a statement: “Emma's social media accounts are dormant but her career isn't.”

Watson, 30, found fame when she was cast as Hogwarts pupil Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies when she was just 10.

As an adult she went on to star in films such as The Bling Ring, Beauty And The Beast and The Circle.

The actor was last seen on the big screen in 2019’s Little Women.

She has been romantically linked to US businessman Robinton since October 2019, when the pair were snapped kissing in London.

However, the private star has kept quiet about their relationship.

Watson has also been quiet on social media of late. Although she boasts more than 59 million followers on Instagram, the actor last posted on the site in June 2020.

He bio on the site currently says: “Emma’s official Instagram page is currently dormant and is not being updated.”

Yahoo has contacted Watson's representative for comment.
