Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been spotted at an event in New York City and it's safe to say the whole of the internet has absolutely lost it. The event marks the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first public appearance as a couple since the birth of their daughter, Lilibet, in June.

Ahead of their appearance at Global Citizen Live this weekend, the couple kicked off their time in New York with a visit to One World Observatory at the One World Trade Center. The Sussexes were joined by Mayor Bill de Blasio, his wife and their son, along with Governor Kathy Hochel.

The pair were both dressed in a darker colour palette for the occasion, with Meghan opting for black trousers, a matching turtleneck, a navy Emporio Armani coat and stiletto heels. The Sussexes looked very chic as they waved to Royal fans who gathered in the street to welcome them to the Big Apple. As they posed for a photo, Meghan was overheard saying, "It's wonderful to be back."

As photos and videos of the couple's appearance started doing the rounds on Twitter, royal fans couldn't help but notice just how in love they look. "The way Harry looks at Meghan," one Twitter user wrote, while another tweeted "In a room full of people, in front of the world, for Harry there's only Meghan."

A third fan said "They’re always holding hands, they are always looking at each other. This is love."

It's unclear whether the couple's two children, Archie and Lilibet, have joined them on their trip to the east coast, or if they've stayed at their home back in California.

Since stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family, Harry and Meghan's big public appearances have been few and far between. Earlier this year they sat down with Oprah for a tell-all interview about their decision to quit 'The Firm', and they've both kept a relatively low profile since welcoming their daughter in June.

But, last week they were featured on TIME's list of the World's Most Influential People. Royal fans were, understandably, delighted with the announcement, as well as the couple's photoshoot for the feature. Plenty took to socials to comment on the subtle symbolism in the photos, including the Duke and Duchess' positioning on the front cover, and the recurrent theme of nature and trees.

We can't *wait* to see more pics of their trip to NYC.
