It's been a big year for seeing Harrison Ford on our screens. Not only did Ford star in the Yellowstone spinoff 1923 on Paramount+, which debuted in December 2022, he also appears in the brand new Apple TV+ comedy series Shrinking. On Shrinking, Ford plays a psychotherapist whose colleague, portrayed by series co-creator Jason Segel, is dealing with debilitating grief after the unexpected death of his wife. The first two episodes of Shrinking premiered on January 27, and subsequent episodes will premiere weekly on Fridays on Apple TV+. Here’s what you need to know about the new show.
Where can you watch Shrinking?

What is Shrinking about?
Jason Segel created Shrinking with Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, the writers and producers of Ted Lasso. On Shrinking, Segel stars as Jimmy Laird, a therapist who has been experiencing crippling depression since his wife's death, ignoring his teenage daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell) and having his neighbor Liz (Christa Miller) parent her while he goes through the motions of life in a daze. To the dismay of his colleagues, played by Jessica Williams and Harrison Ford, he starts offering his patients brutally honest and often inappropriate advice on how to change their lives and, despite everyone’s misgivings, his patients actually start to see results.
The stellar cast is rounded out by Michael Urie and loads of guest stars including sitcom mainstay Ted McGinley, Wendie Malick, Saturday Night Live’s Heidi Gardner and Lily Rabe.
How can you sign up for Apple TV+?
To stream Shrinking, you can sign up for an initial seven-day trial of Apple TV+, and subsequently pay $6.99 a month for the service, which can be shared between up to five family members. You can also sign up for an Apple One account which bundles Apple TV+ with other Apple services like Music, Arcade, and iCloud+ starting at $16.95/month.
