Harley riding high, Biogen posts beat, cost to insure Tesla soars

Here’s a look at some of the companies the Yahoo Finance team will be watching for you today.

Harley-Davidson (HOG) just posted stronger-than-expected earnings for the second quarter. But the trade fight is starting to take its toll. Harley says worldwide sales slid more than 3.5% and lowered guidance for the rest of the year. Still, the company says it expects to ship around 230,000 motorcycles.

A big beat as well for Biogen (BIIB). The Biotech giant says earnings were up in the second quarter and sales climbed 9%. That’s in part thanks to strong demand for spinal atrophy treatment Spinraza, one of the world’s most expensive drugs. A single dose costs upwards of $125,000. Biogen says 20% more patients in the US are now using the drug.

The price investors must pay to insure Tesla (TSLA) credit default swaps is now at its second-highest level. Tesla has confirmed it asked some suppliers to reduce project spending to improve future cash flows. The company still says it aims to be profitable by this quarter.

Get ready to find out even more from Yelp (YELP) reviews. Starting today, the service will provide “hygiene scores” for restaurants in New York, California, Texas, Illinois and Washington, DC. Yelp is pulling the data from government inspection records and says it should help you make a more informed decision about where to eat.
