At long last, we finally reached the WandaVision finale. The last episode—unless, somehow, there ends up being a second season of the show—felt like it blew WandaVision's entire production budget in 40 minutes. Explosions, cars flying into houses, the works. With all the excitement, we don't blame you if you missed something.

About midway through the episode, Vision dukes it out with his all-white doppelgänger. After Purple Vision galaxy-brains White Vision into realizing that he isn't the Real Vision (i.e. the robot we watched die twice in Avengers: Infinity War), he imbues him with Real Vision's memories. As soon as White Vision downloads what's essentially the events of the last five years of Marvel movies, he inexplicably soars away. Since the rest of the episode doesn't even give the smallest hint to his whereabouts, we're left speculating, as always.

Thankfully, we have a solid place to start. When we interviewed Vision actor Paul Bettany a few days before WandaVision's finale, he gave us a cryptic tease that hints at a future character arc for the synthezoid.

“Well, fuck. How do I do this without spoilers?" he said. "I guess we've seen what happens to Wanda when love is taken away from her. And I wonder what that would look like with Vision... I mean, that's the thing, right? I've never had a loved one to lose… I don't know what grief is because I've never had a loved one to lose. There is so much to get into with him because it's been ten minutes here, ten minutes there, in the movies. Now we're sort of just starting to sort of peel back some stuff.”

Given what Bettany said, you could see future Marvel films (or TV shows) exploring Vision after the events of WandaVision. We could find out who Vision is without Wanda. Armed with the memories of his double death, maybe he even has unfinished business in the universe. Potentially, he'll try to ensure that the Infinity Stones are never used for bad again. Or he'll go searching for Wanda, who seems a little MIA right now in her Walden, cabin-in-the-middle-of-nowhere situation.
