Hailey Bieber, Sydney Sweeney, Saucy Santana, more stars land on Forbes '30 Under 30' list

Forbes has picked a new group of young stars who are on track to lead tomorrow as they turn "fame into a force for change."

The magazine released its annual "30 Under 30" lists Tuesday which highlight 600 individuals with emerging talent in several categories including art and style, media and music. For 2023, names including Hailey Bieber, Saucy Santana and Sydney Sweeney landed on the celebrities list.

Bieber, 26, acknowledged for her successful Rhode skincare brand, told the publication "being taken very seriously" was one of her fears before launching Rhode. She recalled asking herself: "Does anybody even take me seriously, as a founder, as an entrepreneur?”

Making Forbes "30 Under 30" is a serious accomplishment. The 12th annual list was compiled by Forbes writers and editors with help from independent judges like Joe Jonas, Aimee Song and Bobbi Brown who evaluated more than 12,000 candidates on factors like social impact and inventiveness.

Here are some more entertainers to know from the 2023 lineup.

Sydney Sweeney, 25

Sydney Sweeney was familiar to TV watchers in 2019 when she starred in HBO's "Euphoria." But in 2021, the fame grew even more when she played half of the intimidating teenage duo on Season 1 of HBO's vacation drama "White Lotus."

Forbes acknowledged Sweeny for all of her major award nominations including her double-category nod for the 2022 Emmys.

Ayo Edebiri, 27

Ayo Edebiri landed a breakout role in FX's "The Bear" in which she played an ambitious and quick-witted sous chef named Sydney.

In addition to her Forbes honor, Edebiri was also presented as one of Time's Next 100. For the Time feature, "Abbott Elementary" creator Quinta Brunson recalled attending "The Bear" premiere with Edebiri and walked away thinking that she was destined to have a "prosperous career," calling her "a great friend and an even better actor."

Hannah Einbinder, 27 

Hannah Einbinder has delivered comedy gold for the past two seasons of the Emmy-winning series "Hacks" opposite Jean Smart. In the series, Einbinder plays a millennial comedian who has gotten canceled on social media but is trying to land back on her feet while helping write for Smart's has-been comedian, Deborah Vance.

Though Einbinder has done stand-up, she credits the HBO comedy as her first acting job and praises the show for its representation of queerness.

"It is a dream as a queer person to be able to be a part of that representation that I’d loved to have seen growing up. It’s been such an affirming thing for me as a queer person to see this experience reflected,"  she told The Guardian in August.  "I could not have thought of a better gig."

Saucy Santana, 29 

Saucy Santana is known for many viral TikTok hits including "Walk" and "Material Girl" but now he's making a hit on the Forbes 30 under 30 list.

Saucy Santana, who created viral hit songs "Walk" and "Material Girl," has had a big year which included several profile stories, sharing the stage with Madonna and having a front row seat at major fashion shows.

Starting as a makeup artist and rising to fever pitch fame, Santana has used his identity as an LGBTQ icon, increasing the visibility of queerness in hip hop.

"Before, I didn't want to be labeled a gay rapper," he told Teen Vogue in June. "Then, in the middle of my career, I started to embrace it because I just felt like it was helpful to my culture and to my people.”

Anitta, 29

Brazilian pop titan Anitta has ascended the charts with her trilingual music.

The 29-year-old singer's latest album "Versions of Me" spawned the reggaeton smash "Envolver," which topped Spotify's Global Top 200 daily chart and made her the first solo Latin artist to achieve the feat.

"Being an international artist is not only about being famous wherever you go, because the world is so big,” Anitta told Billboard in May. "It’s about being able to impact culturally different areas at the same time."

Elsa Majimbo, 21

Elsa Majimbo, who was featured in USA TODAY'S TikTok comedians to follow list, was also tapped as one of Forbes' "30 Under 30" in the social media category. The young comedian capitalized off her TikTok platform and snagged a People's Choice Award as well as many other accolades.

Majimbo told USA TODAY in August that she "genuinely had nothing better to do" when starting her TikTok following through laughs, but it "made me happy and they seemed to do really, really well so I kept making them."

Sadie Sink, 20

"Stranger Things" star Sadie Sink also landed a spot on the Forbes list with 10 years to spare.

The actress is headed to award season with her role in A24's "The Whale," starring Brendan Fraser. But her performance in Season 4 of "Stranger Things" also got a lot of attention when her character Max fights off the series' monster to save her friend to the tune of Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill."

"In an ensemble show where there's so many plot lines happening and you can only give so much attention to each character, for (producers) to trust me with this, I was really grateful,” Sink told USA TODAY in July.
