Guy Fieri Talks Son Hunter's Wedding Plans: 'It's Going to Be Star-Studded' (Exclusive)

"They're both so gentle and easygoing," Guy says of son Hunter and his fiancée Tara Bernstein. All three stars will be hosting events at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival Feb. 22-25

The Fieri wedding is in the works!

While promoting the new season of his Food Network show Tournament of Champions, Guy Fieri gave PEOPLE an update on his son Hunter Fieri's wedding plans. Hunter, 27, proposed to his girlfriend Tara Bernstein at his family's ranch in Northern California on Thanksgiving — and now the young couple plans to say "I do" in that same spot.

"We were out at the ranch for Christmas and that's where the big discussion was going on and talking about how it's going to go, where we're going to do it," says Guy, 56. "We have this big pond and in the center of the pond is an island with a big willow tree on it. The idea is to have Tara walk across the bridge and do the whole thing."

Since Hunter popped the question, all of Guy's chef friends have come out to congratulate them — and offer their skills. "Everyone wants to cook for it," says Guy, who just launched Flavortown Sauce, a line of nine condiments available at grocery stores in March. "It's going to be star-studded."

Hunter and Bernstein are aiming for a May 2025 date. Hunter asked his father to officiate, but Guy might just want to be a regular father-of-the-groom that day, he says. (Guy has officiated many weddings, including 101 gay weddings in Miami in 2015 after Florida lifted the ban on same-sex marriage.) Hunter's brother Ryder, 18, will be the best man.

Hunter and Bernstein, who met in February 2023 at the Super Bowl, are set to host their first big event as an engaged couple at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival on Feb. 24. Guy will also be there to host events, including Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives LIVE.

"They're both so gentle and easygoing," Guy says. "Hunter doesn't flex who he is or where he comes from. She's the same. She's a professional pickleball player. And they just kind of float through life. They're just a lot of fun."
