Greg James completes his Sport Relief challenge
After a setback earlier this month due to dangerous weather conditions, Radio 1's Greg James has completed his Sport Relief challenge and raised a whopping £1 million.
The presenter's Gregathlon challenge has seen him climb three of the highest mountains in the UK while then cycling between them.
However, the 'Beast from the East' extreme weather at the beginning of March forced him to postpone his original attempt at the five-day challenge.
A BLOODY MILLION!
Challenge done. But this isn’t the end. I will do something new with Sport Relief around the mental health issues we’ve discussed. Something which doesn’t involve mountains though. Had enough of that shit. For now, whiskey.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀#Gregathlon pic.twitter.com/97tvPEDZAd- Greg James (@gregjames) March 16, 2018
But despite all that, Greg completed it as planned yesterday (March 16) after reaching the peak of Ben Nevis, and revealed he is now eyeing another challenge for Sport Relief in light of its encouragement to listeners to come forward and talk about their mental health.
"A BLOODY MILLION!" he tweeted. "Challenge done. But this isn't the end. I will do something new with Sport Relief around the mental health issues we've discussed.
"Something which doesn't involve mountains though. Had enough of that shit. For now, whiskey. #Gregathlon".
Good on ya, Greg.
Why does the weather hate me so much?

The presenter said after his original attempt how "gutted" he was about the weather, though praised how it had sparked conversations around mental health.
"It all starts with a conversation and we have hopefully kicked off something that will live on," he explained.
"If you've taken one thing away from this week, please let it be...TALK. OPEN UP and realise that true strength is being able to talk about your weaknesses."
The official total Greg raised from his Gregathlon (so far!) is an incredible £1,043,247. If you want to donate, you can head to his Sport Relief page here.
