2022 Grand National winner: Last year’s finishers plus all-time list

It is the ultimate test in horse racing – with 40 runners negotiating 30 fences over more than four miles – and the Grand National is back today.

Last year, Sam Waley-Cohen, an amateur jockey, announced on Thursday that Aintree would be the final festival of his career. Two days later he had won the biggest prize of them all, on Noble Yeats, a horse that went off as a 50-1 outsider. As a result of last year's performance, Noble Yeats is among the favourites for this year's Grand National. The full list of runners and riders is here.

Noble Yeats was the second remarkable winner in as many years, after Rachael Blackmore became the first woman to ride the winner of the Grand National when she steered Minella Times to victory in 2021.
