Here's some casting news we never thought we'd see – Good Morning Britain presenters Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard will appear in the new Tom & Jerry movie.

The morning TV stalwarts confirmed that they are voicing a pair of "very impressive, theatrical elephants" in the UK version of the new cat and mouse feature.

As revealed in a new featurette shared to YouTube by Warner Bros UK & Ireland, Kate and Ben's animated characters carry in the bride and groom during a wedding at the hotel in which the movie is set.

However, this being Tom and Jerry, the cat and mouse's shenanigans turn things chaotic – and you can check the video above to see some of their voice work… including Ben saying: "OMG is that a mouse?".

"I loved Tom and Jerry as a Kid," Kate further revealed. "I was always on the side of Tom. Is that a surprise? I love cats. I felt like Jerry was just taking the mick a bit."

Controversial, Kate.

Still, the pair went on to compare their relationship to the mischievous duo, Kate adding: "Maybe I identify with Tom. You own me. You are the Jerry to my Tom!".

Speaking of the Tom & Jerry movie, the reviews have already flooded in from the US – and they're not exactly glowing.

The movie sees the crafty mouse move into New York's finest hotel on the eve of "wedding of the century", which forces staff member Kayla (Chloë Grace Moretz) to hire Tom in order to get rid of him.

Tom & Jerry is out now in US cinemas and available to watch now on HBO Max in the US. It is set for a digital home release in the UK soon.
