With most of the celebrity attendees at home during this year’s Golden Globes, viewers were excited to find themselves face-to-face with pets and celebrity children.

On Sunday, nominees and other notable names appeared virtually for the 78th awards ceremony.

While accepting awards or listening to acceptance speeches, many of the stars offered viewers glimpses into their homes, which included proud children and lots of dogs.

One of the first such moments came during Mark Ruffalo’s acceptance speech for best actor in a miniseries or motion picture for television, during which two of his three children jumped into the shot.

As Ruffalo, sitting next to his wife Sunrise Coigney, accepted the award for his role in I Know This Much Is True, the couple’s children Keen, 19, and Odette, 13, celebrated the accomplishment in the background.

Later moments during the award show saw other celebrity children cameos, with Jason Bateman appearing virtually alongside his two daughters Francesca, 14, and Maple, nine, while Kate Hudson appeared remotely with her three children Ryder, 17, Bingham, nine, and Rani, two.

On social media, the sweet moments were praised by viewers who appreciated the new insight into the family lives of celebrities.

“The best thing about these #GoldenGlobes is being able to see all the kids celebrate with their parents. I’d love to see that continue in the future,” one person tweeted.

Another said: “While this may be the most awkward #GoldenGlobes - it is so heartwarming to see people’s kids and family members celebrate wins with them real time.”

“I love the kids jumping into shots when their parents win. So pure. #GoldenGlobes,” someone else tweeted.

While kids sparked joy among viewers, dogs were another crowd-pleaser, with many sharing their happiness at seeing celebrities such as Regina King and Jodie Foster featuring their pets, Cornbread and Ziggy, who wore a bandana in the same print as Foster, respectively.

“I am ready for the world to be safe enough for awards shows (and everything else) to go back to normal but the one great thing about this situation has been seeing the dogs and kids. #GoldenGlobes,” The Hollywood Reporter editor Rebecca Ford tweeted.

One person on Twitter said: “Well #GoldenGlobes is always interesting and I know this is a different time but I’m loving seeing everyone’s dogs.”

“Y’all make fun of the Zooms, but seeing the nominees with their kids/pets/families is PRECIOUS!!! Give an award to Jodie Foster’s dog! #GoldenGlobes,” another user tweeted.
