A new trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has been released, teasing an almighty team up between the giant gorilla and king of the monsters.

The trailer, which was first released at CCXP in Brazil, begins with a seismometer gradually getting more frantic, interspersed with shots of some pyramids with something seemingly emerging from underneath them.

Eventually, what looks like a monkey's hand wearing some sort of armour explodes out of the ground and slams down on the sand.

We see various shots of King Kong, including him coming face to face with a much smaller monkey, before Rebecca Hall's Dr Illene Andrews realises that Kong is perhaps not their only threat.

Godzilla then bursts free from some ice, with the group of humans remarking that they need to team up with Kong to stop Godzilla terrorising the planet.

The trailer ends with Godzilla and Kong in a fight, before cutting to a final shot of the tiny monkey we saw before, adorably beating its chest as Bryan Tyree Henry's character Bernie Hayes remarks: "Is that a mini Kong?!"
