Members of Girls Aloud have come together to support bandmate Nicola Roberts on the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special.

The singer was recently confirmed to be taking part alongside fellow celebrities Larry Lamb, Rosie Ramsey, Rickie Haywood-Williams, Alexandra Mardell and George Webster.

With filming underway, Richie Anderson – who took part in this year's main series – managed to catch a snap with fellow Girls Aloud stars Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Cheryl in the audience.

"Go girls g-g-go go go, we girls gonna take control," he captioned the picture, referencing their 2012 hit 'Something New'.

"A pleasure meeting @cherylofficial @kimberleywalshofficial and @nadinecoyle this evening in the #Strictly ballroom #ballroom #girlsaloud."

Over the summer, Nicola, Nadine, Kimberley and Cheryl reunited for a charity run to pay tribute to late bandmate Sarah Harding, who sadly passed away last year after a battle with breast cancer.

Kimberley previously spoke about grieving for her late friend, admitting she had been struggling with the tragic loss.

"I can’t lie, it absolutely knocked us all for six and the grieving is a daily challenge," she told Psychologies magazine in December.

"Until you’re actually experiencing something like this with somebody who was close to you, it’s impossible to imagine what it’s going to feel like. And I honestly still can’t work out how you ever truly accept it.

"I deal with it day to day and, for me, that’s about checking in with everyone, especially Sarah’s mum, and making sure that they’re OK too. It’s going to take time, and it’s very, very tough."

For one week only, Strictly Come Dancing airs on Sunday (December 11) at 7.15pm on BBC One, with a results show on Monday (December 12). Spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows also stream on BBC iPlayer.
