Ghostbusters Will Include A Female Slimer

The new ‘Ghostbusters’ film has already provoked quite a bit of ire amongst die-hards of the originals. Some of that has been unjust, while others have failed to respond to its trailers and the fact that the film is being rebooted at all.

With that in mind, you can imagine that the unveiling of a female Slimer in the latest ‘Ghostbusters’ TV spot is likely to be met with an equal level of disdain. Because that’s just the way the internet works. You can judge for yourself by taking a look at a picture of her below.

Unfortunately, I can’t provide a link to the trailer where Mrs Smiler makes her debut alongside her husband, as Sony decided to suddenly take it down just a couple of hours after originally uploading it.

As you’re probably more than aware at this point, Paul Feig’s reboot of 1984’s ‘Ghostbusters’ introduces us to Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones, as well as Chris Hemsworth who stars as their receptionist.

Shortly after ‘Ghostbusters’ was announced fans soon took to the internet to air their dismay at the fact it wasn’t a sequel to 1989’s ‘Ghostbusters II’, and would start over again. Others were simply peeved that Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson had been replaced by girls. They’re also known as morons.

But then the release of the first trailers for ‘Ghostbusters’ earlier this year led to even more anger about the film, as people stated that they weren’t funny enough and failed to match the quality of the original.

Thankfully, all of this chatter will soon come to an end, as we’ll finally be able to judge ‘Ghostbusters’ on its own merit when it’s released in the United Kingdom next week on July 11.
