Gavin & Stacey's cast would love to reunite for more episodes, according to actress Joanna Page.

The beloved BBC sitcom last aired around Christmas 2019, with that special reunion episode concluding with a cliffhanger as Nessa (Ruth Jones) proposed to Smithy (James Corden).

During her recent chat with The Sun's TV Mag, the Stacey Shipman actress suggested that "the whole of the cast would" be interested in a comeback if Jones and Corden – who also co-write the series – want to return to it.

"It's such a joy to film," she said. "We slot into those roles when we meet up. It's really lovely and it's so rare as well.

"But then obviously I think we were all like, 'Oh my gosh, what does Smithy say? Does he say yes? Does he say no?' And you can see that they would write it brilliantly either way."

She added: "Last time we thought it was completely and utterly over until we got a phone call from Ruth saying, 'Do you want to do a Christmas special?'

"So I haven't heard anything at all, and I doubt that I will unless she phones me again to say fancy doing another special, or never phones about doing it!

"I have absolutely no idea if there will ever be another one or not."

Meanwhile, Page previously admitted that she never imagined they'd reunite following series 3's finale in 2010.

"I thought we would never do it again. I spent 10 years telling people we were never doing it again, then suddenly we did the special!

"It's down to James and Ruth together because they both write it together. They are best friends, they write and collaborate together so it's up to them and what they want to do."

Gavin & Stacey is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
